🫖 With all my enthusiasm for Doxxed, I realize it’s been a while since my last tsundoku column. I was fasting for Ash Wednesday today, so this edition is all food and beverage-themed. Free subscribers can enjoy a little taste. Paid subscribers: chow down! 🫖
✍️ the only good coffee is bad coffee, Griefbacon
This was the post that made me throw in the towel and say, whelp, looks like I’m paying for another substack! It’s an essay about coffee that’s not at all an essay about coffee. Helena Fitzgerald plays with the listicle format to share touching truths about her life, and ~dare I say~ life in general. I shared it with my friend, and we both agreed that the only thing that could have made it more powerful would have been to end at the heartwrenching section titled “Yesterday’s Leftover Cold Coffee in the Fridge in Your Own Home in the Morning.” She chickened out by making the last entry short and funny. It is nevertheless, a heavenly read. If you have the means (and if paying for my newsletter has bled you dry ;) you can cop a discounted Griefbacon subscription until the end of February. Don’t let the cheugy name and genuinely bad logo fool you: Fitzgerald is publishing banger after banger.
